Solar Cars: Fuel up with Sunlight
Solar technology could become electromobility’s Holy Grail. Using the power of the sun for traction current and battery doesn’t cost a single cent, nor does it emit any pollutants. In practice, however, the hurdles are high – above all, solar cell efficiency still leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless, the first models are already in the starting gates.
Aviation – Starting all over Again
For the aviation industry, sustainable flight is the task of the century. Of course, alternative propulsion systems with batteries, hydrogen, and fuel cells also play an important role. But engineers can’t simply pack tons of batteries into an airplane. What we need now are radical and revolutionary aircraft and propulsion concepts.
