Startups are irreplaceable for the industry as creative think tanks. DEKRA is therefore awarding a winner in the category of the same name for the first time this year. Young companies whose business models represent innovative solutions in the areas of safety at work, in traffic and at home are sought as a new cross-sectional category in the application. The digital economy platform “Gründerszene” received the award as a network partner.

The new category also adds one new member to the jury: Carlos Bhola, Co-Founder of Circ and Managing Partner at Celsius Capital, is a new member. “This new category means that young, innovative start-ups do not have to compete with the budgets and processes of established companies. We can imagine the applicants for the award being accepted into the DEKRA Next Incubator,” said Dr Kerim Galal, Executive Vice President for Strategy and Innovation at DEKRA.

Among all applicants, an internal and external panel of experts decided on the nominations. Crashtest Security, Logical Safety and Serinus won the race. During a live pitch, during which each startup had three minutes to convince the jury of its innovation, the audience selected the winner. Our sincere congratulations go to the winner Serinus.
